Lieutenant Governor Risch Announces Staff Addition BOISE - Lieutenant Governor Jim Risch announced today he has hired Ryan White as the Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant for the Lieutenant Governor's Office. "I want to increase the profile of the office," Risch said. "Ryan's talent and political experience will help me do that, and he will aid in my focus on the areas of economic development and constituent service". "I'm very excited to work with Lieutenant Governor Risch" White stated. "He wants to hit the ground running and make the office of the Lieutenant Governor one of substance, I feel I can help him do that. I look forward to working closely with the Department of Commerce and other state agencies in helping Idaho's economy grow". Ryan is from a long line of Idahoans involved in politics. He is the grandson of former first district congressman Compton I White, Jr. and great grandson of First District Congressman Compton I White, Sr., both of Clark Fork. He is also the grandson of former state legislator June Judd of St. Maries. His father, Mike White, is Vice President and General Counsel for Hecla Mining Company. White is a 2001 graduate of the University of Idaho and North Idaho native, growing up in Post Falls. White has worked as an intern in the Offices of Senator Mike Crapo in Washington, DC and Governor Dirk Kempthorne in Boise. After working as the Lobbyist for the Associated Students of the University of Idaho last legislative session, Ryan recently finished his work on Governor Kempthorne's re-election campaign where he was Statewide Field Director. Jim Risch is in his first term as Lieutenant Governor. An attorney and rancher from Ada County, Lieutenant Governor Risch has also served 22 years in the Idaho State Senate including time as both majority leader and president pro-tem. ### |
